INTO WILDSPACE (in process) The railroad has recently extended itself. Mrylor is mapping an area of rough terrain in the hopes that there are enough resources for a town nearby. As you are overlooking the area, you notice what looks like a small orbital landing craft land not too far away. Your curiosity aroused, you make your way to the landing site. Sneaking in as close as possible, you discover a group of 4 Nurha talking to a Pladone. Unfortunately you don't know the language. Near by are a number of barrels and a few crates. Both the barrels and crates bear governmental markings. The landing craft looks large enough to hold all the barrels and crates with room to spare. Unfortunately, it is enclosed and you can only see portions of the inside. Mrylor watches the grouping for a few minutes to see if anyone notices him. If not, he teleports onto the ship and quietly hides in the cargo area and waits for the craft to lift off. He will have his hand on the rifle in case. You sneak back and remove your gear from pack animal, caching what you cannot carry. Sneaking back to the lander, you notice the boxes have been moved inside. Your danger sense warns you off your first attempt, but your second attempt works just fine. You appear next to a series of boxes and break into a cold sweat when you realize how close you came to interpenetrating with them. (Note: teleporting into unknown areas is a good way to get yourself killed. Interpenetrating matter generates explosions. This time your danger sense worked, but it might not next time.) You feel the lander take off, and decide you have enough time to investigate the boxes. They turn out to be filled with nitro powder. Unfortunately, you can't tell whether you're looking at propellant, explosive, or both. You estimate there's around a ton of powder aboard the ship. After a few hours, you feel a thump. It seems likely the lander has docked. Upon feeling the lander dock, Mrylor looks around for the best hiding place that he can see fully. He then begins moving as quietly as possible. If he makes a noise, he checks to see if it would be possible to teleport the rest of the way, if not he hisses quietly and begins sneaking again. (This hiding place would hopefully allow him to see them but not for them to see him.) You are in the hold of a ship. While you might be able to avoid detection for a little while, it's unlikely that you will be able to do so for long. A hatch in the ceiling opens and a human descends into the hold. Opening a door in the side of the craft, he gestures for a Pladone to enter the hold (you don't think it's the one you saw earlier). The two of them begin moving boxes out of the hold. You can't see much of what's outside from your angle, but the black sky with stars reminds you of what you've heard of wildspace. Occasionally you hear a Slahses voice hissing orders. The hatch in the ceiling is still open, but you can't see anything beyond it due to darkness. There are occasions where both the unloaders are out of the hold. In addition to what you are doing at the moment it would be helpful if your post included your intentions and contingencies for any problems you might encounter. Mrylor waits for one of the times that the unloaders are out of the cargo bay, to creep out of his hiding place. While they are out, he moves very slowly towards the side door. While moving, he listens for the unloaders to return. (If they do so, he looks for the nearest hiding place to go to. If there is no acceptable hiding place, he waits in plain sight for them with his right hand on one of his knives. This is the only possibly aggressive sign that he will show. The opening line will be as follows. "Greetings, forgive my curiosity that lead me to your ship. I hope that there is no harm done and that I can leave peacefully. I would hate to become upset as that has hazardous results for all parties involved. If you're curious my name is Mrylor. (if at anytime they show hostility, he teleport directly behind one of them and puts the knife to his/her neck, using the victim as a human/Pladom shield and slowly backs out the side door.)) This communication will take place in a language that is most likely to be understood. If he makes it out of the side door without incident, he will attempt to find the name of the ship and write it down. He will then head to the bar, get a drink, and try to become as unnoticed as possible, he will listen for mentioning of the ship's name, and if he hears it mentioned, try to listen to as much of the facts as possible, hopefully it will be in a language that he can understand. If he sees the unloaders in the bar, he will attempt to follow them unnoticed back to the ship. If he is spotted, he will look for any alibi possible that could be convincing such as a nearby shop. Otherwise, the above speech will be made with the same contingency plan. Mrylor makes it out of the vessel through the cargo door. The magic flyer is docked to a packet freighter which has definitely seen better days. The area where the name and registry should be is badly scored and unreadable. You have absolutely no idea of how the freighter is laid out or how many crew it's supposed to carry. The ship is stationary above the dark end of Eclipse, and there is no station or other ships nearby. Making your way into the interior of the ship, you stumble across the cargo hold, which is almost completely empty except for the boxes you recognize from the magic flyer. In the hold you overhear the cargo haulers talking, but are unable to understand what they are saying. Trying a door you hope leads somewhere new, you are walking down a hallway when you hear someone call from behind you. Turning around, you put a hand on your knife. Behind you you see the human who was doing the unloading. Addressing him in Kafara, you sign, "Greetings, forgive my curiosity that led me to your ship. I hope that there is no harm done and that I can leave peacefully. I would hate to become upset as that has hazardous results for all parties involved. If you're curious my name is Mrylor." The human replies back in Kafara. "Mrylor huh? Well, tell you what, you're gonna go see the captain right now. Got it?" The human is alone and unarmed, but looks fairly strong. There is enough room for you to teleport behind him. The hallway you are in contains provisions for the crew. There is a single window high up in the wall. You can't jump that high, but might be able to climb up to it. The human is in front of the door leading back to the main hold with enough room for you to teleport behind him, and there is another door at the end of the hall behind you. You are easily in teleportation range of the magical flyer's hold, or the freighter's maindeck or main hold. What do you do? ------ PS I noticed you original post stated that you wanted meta-powers. Would you prefer for your teleportation to be based on meta-powers or psionics? Mrylor teleports behind the man, and begins to run away, as he does so, he looks around for other people that may be around. If he sees any, he looks to see if they are dressed similarly to the human he has teleported behind. If not, he assumes they are no threat, and glances around to find a way out. If there are no places, he again teleports behind the man (if possible) and puts the knife to his throat. "Okay, tell me what is going on here, who you work for, what you are doing here, and how many people are here." Mrylor says, his voice barely an audible hiss to the human, no one else should be able to hear. He then uses the human as a shield, hiding the fact that he would rather keep this human alive if at all possible. He then forces the human to lead him away from everyone else, when they are alone, he hits the human behind the head with the hilt of the knife, hopefully knocking him out. If not, Mrylor is ready for a fight. Write up to any part that is contradicted in your response, I will go from there. PS: I see the teleportation as literally becoming one with the ambient light, as such, if at all possible I would like to eventually develop more light based abilities. As such, would this be psionic or meta ability. Please write me as to both your decision and the differences between the two.
