Connections to almost any world can be easily achieved.

Proximity 0:The phlogiston of Spelljammer™, and N'Ferra Sphere are both accessed so easily that most people have trouble making the distinction between the different areas.
Proximity 1:Currently None.
Proximity 2:Kalyr has this proximity based on interdimensional gates. Some GURPS Spelljammer™ worlds have this proximity because they can be quickly reached through the phlogiston.
Proximity 3:A realm of creeping horrors has impinged on the Dark Sphere. As yet, they are isolated from the rest of the travelers in the Dark Sphere. The Night Sky Galaxy has also mounted a few expeditions with some difficulty. Additionally,.any world which establishes a gate to this realm has this proximity.
Proximity 4:Unless specifically isolated from other worlds, most other realms can be accessed from the Dark Sphere. Mastermind had a base in the Dark Sphere which was destroyed.
Proximity 5:Only realms without dimensional connections exist at this proximity.

SYNOPSIS:

This is a nexus realm enabling several game worlds to interact. It exists primarily as a point of passage, but could be used from some games.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

Anything entering the sphere is enclosed in a "shell" of its native reality. This (usually) means that things function the way that travelers expect. (See the main file for details.)

There are some natural laws which operate regardless of a person's home reality. First, conception is not possible. Any entity which reproduces sexually will not be able to do so while on the Dark Sphere. (This includes a large number of plants.) Pregnancies will proceed normally, but, while within the Dark Sphere, all creatures are effectively sterile. Second, the primal powers of gods do not function. Priests still have their powers, but gods may not intervene directly. Additionally, time plays tricks. People who take any amount of their journey through the Dark Sphere, will usually find that their journey took much less time than it should have. The rules for this distortion isn't clear, but the longer the journey, the more that is chopped off the time, and the more contact that the traveler has with other entities, the less that is chopped off the time.
