Erlo is a noble who began his career as a bandit raiding into the picti nations. After conquering a few worlds, a group from the Logres Cluster captured him and he was imprisoned him at the Warlord's court. While imprisoned he learned to use mecha and had an affair with Orris Tintagel. Eventually the worlds that he had conquered petitioned for his return to help them against other picti nations. Primarily due to Orris's aide he was released.
Upon his return to the picti region with Orris at his side he immediately began a campaign of conquest. Aided by Orris's psionics he eventually brought the entire area under Thrym's rule. Thrym kept a cautious eye on Erlo, and, though he was awarded the duchy of Thia, Thrym never trusted him.
The second child of Grenn and Gormin Tintagel, Thrym never confirmed Kaydo as duke, but it seems likely that he will triumph over his competitors in that area. Kaydo is noble, a mecha pilot, and unmarried as of year 57.
The third child of Grenn and Gormin Tintagel Lena is married to Mendes Traveler.
Ambrus Paradoxus, The Maltese, Mage of Logres, Primary of Puys, and many other titles, is the most enigmatic figure in the Logres Cluster. His origin is unknown, and from the first encounters in year 3 he has always appeared as the hairy, ugly, old man he is today. Admittedly, he has appeared to age over the years.
Maltese's knowledge is immense. There seems to be little about technology or psionics that he doesn't know. He's also an astute politician. Primarily, however, he's known for the strength of his psionics. Though the exact extent of his abilities is uncertain (as is true for most powerful psis) he is known to excel in precognition. He's also known for his talent in disguise, but this may be natural and not psionic. It is also known that he cannot use a neural interface.
Maltese's actions often seem enigmatic, even quixotic, but he has generally acted in the service of the entire Logres Cluster. He has traveled throughout the Cluster and is as known to the picti and invading fringers as to the descendents of the commonwealth.
Ruler of Forbyreth. Married to Lena Tintagel.
The eldest child of Grenn and Gormin Titagel, Orris is a noble psionic. She blames Thrym Pendragon for her father's death. She currently lives in the picti sector with Erlo Keyns.
Thrym Pendragon's older sister, Rose was the descendent of one of the first families in the Logres Cluster to recieve genetic engineering. Rose percieved early the need to adapt to the changing times. Her's was the idea to make mecha-using nobles the core of the sibling's army. She had many other ideas on the changes needed in government and the sort of leadership that was needed in these times. Though she hesitated to implement these ideas herself, they were gathered into her book, War and Government After the Commonwealth which was published after her death in 37 ASY.
Sent to be educated in the near galaxy before Vortex took power, her plans to take the Logres Cluster away from the invading fringers took on particular power after the Night of Long Knives. When her forces succeeding in showing success against the invaders, she was proclaimed Warlord; a title she never sought. Rose was assassinated by means of a neurotoxin administered by a traitor hired by one of Vortex the Unmourned sons.
More a scholar than an engineer, Rose was also an excellent strategist. Never as loved as Thrym, she was also never guilty of his excesses. Though she intended to have children eventually, she was assassinated before that happened.
Rose Pendragon's younger brother, Thrym was actually the more driven of the two. Though most of the ideas that the two implemented were Rose's, Thrym was the one who made them work. Thrym had a strong talent for leadership and was greatly beloved during his reign in spite of his occasional excesses.
Educated in the near galaxy, Thyrm stood in Rose's shadow for most of her life. Upon her assassination, his first action was the destruction of Vortex's remaining family.
A better tactitican than strategist, Thrym spent most of his life at war, which is where he wanted to be. Sterilized by an invader weapon early in his reign he died without a legitimate successor.
