From its beginnings in the southernmost parts of the MidSea, Exquaestio has expanded to cover most of the MidSea and the civilized adjoining areas including Torphan, Aryisa, and Razan. Membership is strongest in Southern Orasaren, Junder, and Tanimbar. It's growth has followed the lines of trade and communication. So, though Exquaestio has no reluctance to accept less civilized members, it's growth among the less civilized has been limited.
The southern Midsea sees warm summers and cool to cold winters with year-round precipitation. (This is similar to Washington or Oregon in North America, or Germany or England in Europe.) Most terrain is forested. Prevailing air currents make the western regions a bit drier, and higher altitudes are, of course, colder.
