Quaestae

Claim to Hospitality [2] (B41): All members of Exquaestio are supposed to help each other. Because most Quaestae are so poor this usually translates into a single meal and shelter for the night in exchange for the story of a person's travels. Those who have access to information about where the homes of the Quaestae in an area are located my have Claim to Hospitality at the 3 or even 4 point level. If a Quaestae doesn't travel, the Claim to Hospitality is a Quirk-level disadvantage.

Respondence [1] (Per/Hard skill defaults @ -6): The gods who lead Exquaestio grant to all of their followers the ability to sense other believers and other things (consecrated ground and objects for example) associated with Exquaestio. Respondence is a boon and will be weakened or absent in areas or situations dominated by hostile divinities. Some quaestae claim this ability also gives them information about divine will. This ability is Detect: Exquaestio (B48) with Divine, Vauge, and Short Range limitations. With training and practice quaestae may increase both range and acuity in addition to increasing skill. Quaestae should not buy Acute Sense, buy up skill instead. Magery (Espiri) adds to this skill.

Anradan

Clerical Investment [5] (B43): This advantages is possessed by most Vicars and Teachers, and all Travelers and anradan of higher rank.

Patron [var] (): Most anradan have some sort of Patron advantage. This may be their local ecclesia, a superior in rank, or a specific branch of Exquaestio. Exquaestio as a whole is not available as a patron; take Reputation.

Rank [5/level] (B29): Vicars, Teachers, and Travelers have Religious Rank 1 [5], Priests have Religious Rank 2-3 [10 or 15], Overpriests have Religious Rank 4 [20], Associate Bishops have Religious Rank 4 [20] and Courtesy Religious Rank 1 [2], Bishops have Religious Rank 5 [25], Archbishops have Religious Rank 6 [30], and Pontifexes have Religious Rank 7 [35].

Skills: Anradan are expected to have at least one point in each of the following skills: Administration (B174), Religious Ritual (Exquaestio) (B217), Teaching (B224), and Theology (Exquaestio) (B226).

Espiri

Espiri ranks are based on their magical abilities (boons) and reputation. Magical abilities are only those granted by the gods. Learned abilities like points in rites or innate talent do not count. Reputation only refers to those which mention Exquaestio or one of its branches, including appropriate negative reputations (which count as positive). For example, Reputation/-2 (Enemies of Exquaestio *1/3) would count as +4 points. The numbers below can be used as general guidelines, but, as with all ranking systems, appropriate exceptions may be made.

Magery (Espiri) [5+10/level] (B66): Espiri glimmering is based on Magery not Power Investiture. Espiri sense divine sanctity and power instead of mana and magic. Espiri may take the One Gleam Only special limitation for -40% on one or more ranks of their Magery. An espiri with both Magery (Espiri) and a divine power may subtract the points spent in rites from the cost of an appropriate power. (Points in the Flight spell, for example, may be subtracted from points for the Flight advantage.) This form of Magery counts as talent towards all Exquaestio boons. A maximum of 4 levels are available.

Reputation (Exquaestio) [1/level] (B26): All Quaestae is a small class (x1/3), Everyone who knows about Exquaestio is a large class (x1/2), Enemies of Exquaestio is a small class (x1/3), Everyone in area except visitors is x2/3 for sedentary individuals and inappropriate for travelers.

Talent (Glimmering) [10/level] (): does not count towards Magery requirements.

Sanctity (B235): Exquaestio's term for their sanctity is devova which correspond generally to GURPS mana ratings, but have different specifics.
